As part of its commitment to promoting sustainable livelihoods and women’s empowerment, Manappuram Foundation, in association with Lions International District 318D, organized a Sewing Machine Distribution Program under the Women Livelihood Project at Manappuram House, Valapad.
The initiative aims to support women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds by providing sewing machines that enable them to generate a steady income, enhance their skills, and achieve greater financial independence.
The program was inaugurated by Mr. O. J. Janeesh, Hon’ble Minister for Youth Welfare, Sports & Registration, who commended the efforts of Manappuram Foundation and Lions International in creating meaningful livelihood opportunities for women.
The event was presided over by PMJF Lion T. Jayakrishnan, District Governor, Lions International District 318D. The gathering was also addressed by Mr. V. P. Nandakumar, Managing Trustee, Manappuram Foundation, who emphasized the importance of empowering women through skill-based livelihood support and sustainable community development initiatives.
PMJF Lion Sushama Nandakumar (PDG & PMCC) felicitated the beneficiaries and appreciated the collaborative effort aimed at strengthening women’s economic participation and self-reliance.
The distribution of sewing machines marks another step in Manappuram Foundation’s ongoing mission to create lasting social impact by supporting education, healthcare, livelihood enhancement, and community development programs across the country.
