1) INSIGNIA

MAFOUND organized an event to honor 27 students by giving cash awards of Rs.5000/- who achieved good results in CA and CMA from MaCampus (Manappuram academy of Professional Education). Ms.Sreelima From MaCampus made the only rank in CMA examination from Kerala and 29th Rank in all India,Athletes of Nattika Sports Academy who participated in Junior Federation National Meet, Bhopal, Junior National Meet and South Zone Meet, Calicut University, Thenjipalam. They made 8 Gold, 7 Silver and 3 Bronze from these competitions. Ancy Sojan and Anjali PD are qualified for World University Meet -China in August and also honored MAFIT Badmindon Team. Mr. Minhaj PA, Mr. Arun dev, Mr. Roshan, Mr. Zakir, Mr. Foushad, Mr. Vivek and Mr. Kannan who achieved medals in District and State level Competitions. The event organized at Sarojini Padmanabhan Memorial Auditorium. Mr.VP Nandakumar, managing Trustee of Manappuram Foundation and Mrs.Sushama Nandakumar, Manappuram Finance Co-promoter together honored students and athletes.

2) Snehadharav

Socio Economic Unit Foundation, TVM has conducted a survey in Valapad Grama Panchayath and MAFOUND could understand that there are minimum of 85 families who don’t have proper shelter to reside. Based on the understanding from grass root level, the requirement of houses are genuine and Manappuram Foundation initiates a proposal for twenty new houses for most deserving in each ward of Valapad Grama Panchayath.
Manappuram Foundation organized an event with Valapad Grama panchayath members and Panchayath president for unveiling the development project plan (20 New Houses in each Ward) along with honoring newly elected members, Panchayath president of Valapad Grama Panchayath and Thalikulam Block panchayath presidentat sarojini Padmanaban Auditorium. During the event Cheques were distributed to people from below poverty line who are suffering with major illness of Valapad and Nattika Grama Panchayaths and LED bulb distributed for 36 Anganwadi’s in Valapad Grama Panchayath.

SUPPORT FOR CRITICALLY ILL PERSONS

CRAB(Cancer Remedy Assistance Beuro) situated near Thiruvananthapuram Medical College established to provide free food and accommodation to the cancer patients of economically backward family who come to medical college for treatment. Manappuram Foundation supported CRAB by constructing Twelve individual Aluminium Cubicles in order to keep the privacy of the patients. Newly constructed Aluminium Cubicles Inaugurated by Mr.VP Nandakumar, managing Trustee of Manappuram Foundation in the presence of Dr.K Sudhakaran, Medical Director New Al-Ayin Clinic Centre and Mr.George De Das Manappuram Foundation CEO.

Type 1 diabetes in children is a condition in which a child’s body no longer produces an important hormone (insulin). Children need insulin to survive, so the missing insulin needs to be replenished with injections or with an insulin pump. There are some children who have to inject more than 5 insulin per day therefore Manappuram Foundation took initiative to supply Glucometer Strips to 40 Type 1 diabetes affected children of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Pathanamthitta. Mr.VP Nandakumar, managing Trustee of Manappuram Foundation handed over Glucometer Strips to Fr.Jeevan Jacob, Type 1 Diabetes Foundation president at the event organised at Hotel Ruby arena in the presence of VK Prakash,Vattiyurkav MLA, Dr.Rajith Kumar and Mr.George De Das, CEO Manappuram Foundation.

HOUSING PROJECTS

Own house is a dream of every person. There are many people around us who are financially unstable to build their own house. Manappuram Foundation let their dream come true. Manappuram foundation donated a house to Mr.Thomas of Angamaly constituency through “Athijeevanam” project of Roji M John MLA.

Reference to the news article published in Malayala Manorama, eleven year old boy Sachin is living in a pathetic condition with his mother and paralyzed father in an unfinished house in Vadama Grama Panchayath, Mala. Based on the newspaper information, MAFOUND renovated the house and Mr.VP Nandakumar, Managing Trustee Manappuram Foundation handed over new house to Sachin and his family. As a part of an event conducted by Manappuram foundation to honor Twenty elected ward members of Valapad Grama Panchayath, Manappuram Foundation promises to donate one house for eligible person in each ward of Valapad Gram Panchayath. The total cost for the whole project which consists of 20 houses is One crore. Mr.VP Nandakumar, Managing Trustee Manappuram Foundation handed over house to 20 beneficiaries.

Thirupazhanchery colony in Valapad Grama Panchayath is a residence of 19 families and in which 13 houses are really in a pitiable condition.Manappuram foundation take action on this as a project “Sayujyam” in loving memory of Mrs. Sarojini Pathmanaban and constructed new 13 houses and renovated 3 houses for the economically backward community people residing in Thirupazhanchery Colony.

AMAR JAVAN

The Amar Jawan Jyoti was built as a memorial for Indian soldiers lost in battle during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, which India won and led to Bangladesh’s formation. In Kerala the only Amar Javan Smarak situated in Thrissur District, which is the cultural capital of Kerala. Considering the pathetic condition of Amar Javan Smarak sitatued in Ayyanthole, Manappuram foundation took an initiative to renovate Amar Javan Smarak and have done beautification works of worth Rupees Eight Lakhs on it. Captain Yogenthra Singh Yadhav Paramveerchakra handed over newly beautified Amar Jawan Smarak to Thrissur.
